Project Background
In August 2022, during the Nantong COSCO dry-dock repair, the shipowner urgently needed 14 sets of GM23500 series hatch cover hydraulic motors for the power unit of the hatch cover hydraulic system. The dry-dock schedule was extremely tight, and the hydraulic motors had to be in place on time, otherwise subsequent operations such as hatch cover lifting and sealing inspection could not proceed, risking schedule delay and additional costs.
Key Challenges
The GM23500 series hydraulic motor is an uncommon model. The conventional procurement cycle generally requires 7-15 days, far exceeding the dry-dock window; spot inventory is scarce in the market, the OEM lead time is long, and the shipowner required class society certificates, posing dual requirements for quality and compliance.
Solution
AMTS immediately launched an emergency response upon order receipt: first, mobilized proprietary channels and stable partner-manufacturer resources overnight to lock 14 sets of GM23500 hydraulic motors from spot inventory; second, coordinated a dedicated vehicle direct-to-terminal transport plan, avoiding relay delays; third, tracked delivery to the terminal end-to-end, ensuring smooth unloading, receipt and quality confirmation.
Project Result
Within 1 day (24 hours), the full process of stocking, transport and terminal delivery of 14 hatch cover hydraulic motors was completed. The dry-dock schedule was not affected at all, and the shipowner expressed special appreciation. AMTS's emergency response capability and channel scheduling capability were fully verified, establishing a benchmark process for subsequent urgent orders.
